Ina – An Illinois State Trooper was involved in a crash south of Ina last night. According to a release from the Illinois State Police the accident happened at around 5:00pm on Northbound 57 when a trooper who had pulled his squad car over to tend to a pot hole was rear-ended. The trooper was transported to a Mt. Vernon hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and a passenger in the other car were not seriously injured. No charges have been filed at this time.
