According to 411mania, Jennifer Lawrence has confirmed that she had a meeting with director Paul Feig for the upcoming female-led Ghostbusters reboot. Lawrence spoke with MTV UK recently alongside her The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 co-stars and when they were asked who they would like to see in the Ghostbusters film, she acknowledged the reports out of the recent Sony hack that she had interest in the film.
“I actually met with the director,” said Lawrence. “I had dinner with him.”
Lawrence isn’t exactly a hardcore afficianado of the franchise though; she was surprised when she was told that the 1989 sequel had the same cast as the 1984 original. In all fairness, I think most of us would like to forget that film though.
Feig is set to direct the new take and Rebel Wilson (Pitch Perfect) said recently that she also had a meeting about starring in the movie. Leaked emails from the Sony hack have suggested that Emma Stone, Melissa McCarthy, Amy Schumer and Lizzy Caplan have all expressed interest and that Ryan Gosling is interested in the main male role in the film.
