Michael Myers is back from the dead, again. THR reports that Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, the writers behind some of the Saw films, are set to write the latest installment of the Dimension Films franchise.
Rob Zombie directed the 2007 and 2009 films, but currently no director is attached to the new installment, which has been in development for several years now. According to the report, sources are advising it is not a remake, not a reboot, and not a reimagining. One source said the project is a “recalibration.”
Malek Akkad, who has been associated with the franchise since the mid-90s and producing the movies since the 2007 reboot, is producing with Matt Stein. He is the son of Moustapha Akkad, the man who executive produced the original batch of movies.
