Marvel Auditioning Teens For Spider-Man

Badass Digest is suggesting that Marvel is indeed looking for its new, “younger” Spider-Man. When Sony and Marvel reached a deal to bring Spidey into the Marvel Universe, reports suggested the studio was looking to go much younger than previous webslingers Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire. Both Garfield and Macguire were 27 at the time of being cast as Spider-Man and the site is reporting that 16 year-old Mateus Ward (Murder in the FirstHostages) has auditioned for the role as well as others around his age.

The new version of Spider-Man is slated to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe during Captain America: Civil War, which will start shooting in April 2015.
