Thanks to Vanity Fair’s June issue, we have confirmation from Lucasfilm’s president Kathleen Kennedy that a new Indiana Jones movie is in the works. We already knew that an agreement between Disney and Paramount (2012) gave Disney the rights to Star Wars… Now we have confirmation that they will attempt to breathe life back into the Indiana Jones franchise.
Here is an excerpt from the article: In buying the company, Disney also got rights, for better or worse, to less-storied Lucasfilm properties, among them Willow and Radioland Murders. A bigger prize is the Indiana Jones franchise. Kennedy confirmed rumors that another Indy movie “will one day be made inside this company. When it will happen, I’m not quite sure. We haven’t started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it.”
No telling if Harrison Ford will return in the title role, or if they will move in a different direction. It is worth reminding that Ford is currently working with the same company for the new Star Wars films.
