J.J. Abrams recently dished on Star Wars: The Force Awakens with the AP. Here are some highlights of that conversation:
On the film’s post-production process: “The visual effects process goes on for so long, my guess is that we’ll probably be doing visual effects for the next three or four weeks even though the cut will be done before then. We’re in the editing room, and you know working on the cut, going over visual effects and doing reviews. We still have another scoring session with John Williams, who is a god when it comes to music, and so it’s been an ongoing surreal experience and I just cannot wait for the movie to be out in the world.”
On fan reaction: “We were all thrilled that the trailer was seen and embraced, especially people who were saying they’re not even really fans of Star Wars but they’re interested in seeing this thing now and it’s a testament to all the amazing work that this cast and crew have done, and the studio in rolling out the movie the way they have.”
Why wasn’t Luke Skywalker in the trailer?: “These are good questions to be asking, I can’t wait for you to find out the reason… It’s no accident.”
