JJ Abrams Says He Worked with Steven Spielberg A Roger Rabbit Sequel

During a recent interview with Nerdist, J.J. Abrams revealed he and Steven Spielberg worked on a sequel to Who Framed Roger Rabbit at one point. Abrams advised he was just getting started as a screenwriter at the time: “It was for a Roger Rabbit sequel. It was a whole thing. I actually have some storyboards for a Roger Rabbit short. We were writing an outline [for a sequel], but it honestly went away before it was anything. This was a long time ago. [Robert] Zemeckis probably would’ve been a producer on it. This was 1989.”

Who Framed Roger Rabbit was released in 1986, and directed by Robert Zemeckis… Spielberg served as the Executive Producer.
