Wonder Woman herself (Gal Gadot) recently spoke with Digital Spy, and said the upcoming Wonder Woman solo feature will be “pretty dark.” She said: “In Batman v Superman, you get a glimpse of who she is but not where she comes from. In Wonder Woman, this would be the first time we ever tell the coming-of-age story of how Diana becomes Wonder Woman. It’s very interesting. It has moments of humor, but it’s pretty dark.”
Gadot also talked about how Wonder Woman’s movie will be different: “We go back 100 years to when she’s more naïve. She’s this young idealist. She’s pure. Very different to the experienced, super-confident, grown-up woman you’ve seen.”
Wonder Woman also stars Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen, Danny Huston, Ewan Bremner and former The Office actress Lucy Davis. Wonder Woman hits theaters on June 2, 2017.
