During a conversation with Reuters at an opening gala for the two-part play, Harry Potter and The Cursed Child, J.K. Rowling revealed there will be no more new stories for the series after the play. When asked if the new play would bring about a new phase of stories for Harry Potter, Rowling responded, “No, no.”

Harry Potter and The Cursed Child’s story takes place 19 years after the events of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows. Harry is now 37 years old, and a father to three children. Rowling added, “He goes on a very big journey during these two plays and then, yeah, I think we’re done. This is the next generation, you know. So, I’m thrilled to see it realized so beautifully but, no, Harry is done now.”

There is always hope that Rowling changes her mind… The spin-off for the franchise, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, will hit theaters this November.
