Todd McFarlane appeared on Sunday’s episode of Geeking Out (via ComicBook.com) and advised a Spawn reboot is on the way.
On the possibility of a film reboot: “The simple answer is yes…[it will be] a dark, R-rated, scary, badass sort of script.”
On the feel of the new film: “The world’s going to be real, except for one thing that’s going to move…you’re never going to see a dude in a rubber suit….This is going to be myJaws shark.”
The original Spawn live-action film was released in 1997 and starred Michael Jai White and John Leguizamo. The PG-13 film made $87.8 million on a budget of $40 million. A sequel was commissioned but was stuck in development hell for years.
