Casey Affleck Addresses Sexual Harassment Allegations Following Oscars

Casey Affleck vaguely addressed his sexual harassment allegations to the Boston Globe, saying the following: “I believe that any kind of mistreatment of anyone for any reason is unacceptable and abhorrent, and everyone deserves to be treated with respect in the workplace and anywhere else. There’s really nothing I can do about it. Other than live my life the way I know I live it and to speak to what my own values are and how I try to live by them all the time.”

The Globe advised that Affleck answered their questions “wearily.” Affleck and his alleged victims have a settlement in place that prohibits them from discussing the case. The allegations against Affleck were brought to light in September, recounting claims that he made unwanted sexual advances against two women while making I’m Still Here back in 2010. The case was settled to the “content of both parties” according to Affleck’s representatives.

Many believed the situation would derail Affleck’s Oscar hopes, but he ended up winning Best Actor for Manchester by the Sea anyway.
