JJ Abrams Says Mark Hamill Could Win Oscar For Star Wars: The Last Jedi

During a recent conversation with the New York Daily News, J.J. Abrams said that he believes Mark Hamill’s performance in Star Wars: The Last Jedi is so good, it will get him an Oscar.

Abrams said: “I think we are all going to be very upset if he does not win an Oscar, and no one more upset than Mark. He is hysterically funny. He has done comedy. He is an amazing guy — he can do anything.”

Star Wars: The Last Jedi also stars Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Lupita Nyong’o, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran. The film is set to hit theaters December 15, 2017.
