Beauty and the Beast Director In Talks To Direct The Bride of Frankenstein

According to a report from Deadline, Bill Condon (Beauty and the Beast) is in talks to direct the remake of The Bride of Frankenstein for Universal Pictures as part of their “MonsterVerse.” Condon is on record saying the original is one of his favorite monster movies of all time.

The original Bride of Frankenstein was released in 1935 and starred Boris Karloff and Elsa Lanchester. The remake will be written by David Koepp. Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan will produce.

The Bride of Frankenstein is another remake of a classic Universal film in a series of them, as part of a cinematic universe that begins with The Mummy (starring Tom Cruise) on June 9, 2017.
