A search will resume this morning in Jackson County for two people reported missing on the Mississippi River near the boat dock at Grand Tower yesterday. 51-year-old David Totten of DuQuoin and 13-year-old Paul Johnson are believed to be related. Crews from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, Illinois State Police and the Illinois Conservation Department suspended their search last night at dusk near the beach at Devil’s Backbone Park. Those crews will be utilizing sonar to locate the pair, who officials believe may have been swept away by the river’s strong current.
