Kermit the Frog Actor Replaced For ‘Unacceptable Business Conduct’

Kermit the Frog voice actor Steve Whitmire, recently revealed he was fired by Disney and was “devastated” by his release. Whitmire was replaced by Matt Vogel after playing the role for 27 years. According to a new report from Variety, the Muppet Studio has come public to explain why Whitmore was released from the position, citing “unacceptable business conduct.”

They said: “The role of Kermit the Frog is an iconic one that is beloved by fans and we take our responsibility to protect the integrity of that character very seriously. We raised concerns about Steve’s repeated unacceptable business conduct over a period of many years and he consistently failed to address the feedback. The decision to part ways was a difficult one which was made in consultation with the Henson family and has their full support.”

According to a recent report from TMZ, Jim Henson’s daughter Cheryl said that Whitmire made Kermit a “bitter, angry, depressed, victim. Worst of all, in the past few years he had not been funny or fun.” She said it was time for a change and told Whitmire to “stop with the pity party.”
