A new federal report accuses the Marion VA Hospital of numerous issues that could have led to veterans dying. The problems range from poor patient conditions to corruption, nepotism, intimidation and bullying, dating back to 2008. Employees allege the negative culture at the hospital has contributed to the deaths of over a dozen veterans at the Marion VA’s Community Living Center since October. The issues were detailed in a memo to US Representative Mike Bost’s office on May 31st. Bost wants VA Secretary David Shulkin to investigate why the issues haven’t been fixed.
