Two West Frankfort men have been arrested in Hardin County on attempted murder charges after an incident Monday night. 24-year-old Joshua Mohring and 46-year-old Shawn Walton are charged with attempted murder and aggravated arson after an attack on a man named Andrew Nicklaus at his home near Cave-in-Rock. Nicklaus told responders the two men beat him, stabbed him, and set him on fire, which caused a structure fire in his home. Nicklaus was airlifted from the scene to a hospital, his condition is unknown. Preliminary hearings for the two men are scheduled for August 22nd.
