One person was injured after a car ran into the Thai Taste restaurant in downtown Carbondale last night. Kevin Barker of Marion was driving westbound on West Main Street when he ran a red light. His vehicle was struck by another car traveling northbound on Illinois Avenue. That caused Barker’s vehicle to strike the northern outer wall of the restaurant. At least one customer inside the restaurant was injured and hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. Barker was cited for disobeyed a traffic control device. The restaurant is closed until further notice, and say in a social media post that they hope to reopen as soon as possible.
