Washington Co. – Two truck drivers are recovering after a collision involving a parked truck on Interstate 64 in Washington County yesterday morning. According to an Illinois State Police report, a truck being occupied by 51-year-old Kevin Shaw of Marion was parked along the shoulder of the interstate near eastbound milepost 57.5 when it was struck at the back of it’s trailer by another truck that had lost control and veered onto the shoulder. Both vehicles were badly damaged and the driver of the other truck, 41-year-old Peter Grudon of Florida, had to be extricated from his vehicle and flown to an area hospital with major injuries. Shaw was also transported with minor injuries to an area hospital. I-64 was reduced to one lane for more than 10 hours for cleanup after the crash.
