Murphysboro – Gaege Bethune, the man accused in the 2014 killing of SIU student Pravin Varughese is agreeing to new bond requirements that will keep him out of jail for the time being. Bethune will be required to submit to a drug test every two weeks while on bond after coming to an agreement with a prosecutor in the case against him who had made the request to revoke bond. Bethune who had been convicted on murder charges in the case, is out on bond after a judge decided that the wording of the indictment was potentially confusing and overturned the verdict, requesting a new trial.
