Cave-in-Rock Ferry Back to Full Operations After Agreement is Met

Cave-in-Rock – The Cave-in-Rock ferry between Illinois and Kentucky is set to resume full operations today after operating on limited hours the past three months. In a release from Senator Dale Fowler’s office, the senator stated that he is encouraged that an agreement between the two states, along with the Ohio River Authority was reached, as the ferry is a critical transportation route between the two states. The agreement returns the ferry to a 16-hour-per-day, seven-day-a-week schedule, after operating just 12 hours per day since July 1st. The ferry carries about 500 vehicles per day on average.
