Jury Selected in Adriane Parke Trial For 2015 Hotel Fire

Mt. Vernon – The jury trial for Adriane Parke, the woman accused of starting a fire at the Mt. Vernon Drury Inn, is underway. Parke was originally charged with a class X felony aggravated arson as well as class two felony arson of property valued over $150 dollars and a class 4 felony criminal damage to government property in connection to a December 2015 incident when Parke worked as a housekeeper at the motel. The state has dropped the two lesser charges. Parke was arrested in Franklin County before being transported to Jefferson County and posting bond. Close to 60 guests and employees had to evacuate during the fire, but Parke was the only injury reported as she reportedly suffered from smoke inhalation.
