Carbondale – The late chancellor of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale will be honored with full military honors Wednesday in Mound City. Carlo Montemagno passed away unexpectedly last week amidst a battle with cancer. The 62-year-old was a U.S. Naval Civil Engineer before obtaining a doctorate in the field and becoming chancellor of the school.
