Brief Shutdown at State Capitol Due to Unknown Substance

Springfield – The Illinois Statehouse was put on lockdown yesterday afternoon after an unknown substance was discovered in a men’s bathroom on the second floor. According to a report from the State Journal Register in Springfield, the lockdown was initiated at around 1:00pm when the substance; a white powdery substance in a small, clear bag was found.  The lockdown was lifted when the all-clear was given at just before 2:30.
