Franklin Co. – The sheriff in Franklin County says the sheriff’s office continues to receive reports daily of various scams. Don Jones tells Barry Wright of WQRL that a recent scam attempt involved a phone call to a local resident informing them that their voter registration was expired and there was a charge to re-register. Jones stated that this of course is not true as registration does not expire and there is no charge to vote or to register to vote. The Sheriff’s office says to remember to not give out personal or banking information over the phone or internet unless you are absolutely sure who you are talking to.
