Carbondale – An investigation is underway in Carbondale after hunters found human skeletal remains in a wooded area just north of the city limits. According to a release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call and were directed to a wooded area near North Marion Street where they found the remains. Multiple agencies from Jackson County and SIU are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 684-2177.
