Carbondale – Two Marion residents are facing charges after stealing from Best Buy in Carbondale. According to a release from the Carbondale Police Department, on Wednesday Best Buy Employees saw 19-year old Destinee Johns and 20-year-old Lemont Brinson leave the store without paying for over $200 of merchandise. When confronted by employees the two left the scene in their vehicle. A short time later a vehicle matching the description was called in after someone reported that they had just had a gun pointed at them near the Dollar General. The vehicle was located at East Walnut and Giant City road, where police took the two into custody. An infant was present in the vehicle, and a handgun, narcotics and the stolen merchandise from Best Buy was recovered. Brinson faces several charges and is being held in the Jackson County Jail.
