Pulaski Co. – One is dead after a three-vehicle accident on I-57 in Pulaski County yesterday afternoon. According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident happened when a vehicle being driven by 41-year-old James Foster of Gosport, IN slowed down for a disabled vehicle that was partially in the lane of travel. When Foster slowed down, his vehicle was struck from behind by a semi being driven by 61-year-old Leroy Mitchell of Detroit, MI. The accident pushed Foster’s vehicle into the disabled vehicle. The driver of the disabled vehicle was outside of the vehicle and was hit and killed. Their name is being withheld at this time while family members are notified. There are charges pending.
