ISP – Two are recovering following a two-vehicle crash on northbound I-57 in Williamson County last night. According to a release from the Illinois State Police, the accident happened shortly after 5:00pm when a semi pulling a trailer, driven by 41-year-old Louis Fontanez of Lexington, Nebraska, was stopped in traffic as he attempted to enter the weigh station on northbound I-57 at milepost 46. While the semi was stopped a truck being driven by 26-year-old David Keith of Belton, Kentucky rear ended the trailer Fontanez was towing. Keith suffered incapacitating injuries and was flown from the scene to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. Fontanez suffered non-incapacitating injuries. Charges are pending.
