Murphysboro – A Carbondale is being sentenced to 34-years in prison after pleading guilty to charges of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. A release from Jackson Co. State’s Attorney Michael Carr states that 29-year-old Jose Pina Hernandez sexually assaulted a 6-year-old in July of last year. In addition to the sentence, Hernandez will serve three-years to life on mandatory supervised release as a sex offender.
