Carterville – A new phone scam is being reported in Carterville. According to a release from the Carterville Police Department’s Facebook page, they have received several reports of a call coming from someone claiming to be with the Social Security Administration asking for Social Security numbers, credit card information and other private material. If you do receive a call like this, do not give the caller any information and report it to your local law enforcement agency.
