A Benton woman was arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop Tuesday night at the intersection of 10th and East Taylor Street in Benton. Benton Police say during the stop, K-9 Ranger alerted to the odor of illegal narcotics in the vehicle. Police investigated and arrested 63-year-old Pamela J. Lafond for unlawful possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Lafond was charged and transported to the Franklin County Jail for further processing.
