Benton Candidates for April Election Named

Benton — We now know who is running for mayor and for the four seats on the Benton City Council in the April 2 Consolidated Election. For mayor, incumbent Fred Kondritz will be seeking a second term. He will face challenger Roy Simpkins. Incumbent Don Storey will be joined by Tom Carter, Cathy Ann Garavalia, Lee Messersmith, John D. Mohr, Ian Zane Perkins, Chris Sawyer, Albert Smith and Brandon Overton for the four seats on the city council. Storey serves as Public Safety Commissioner and will be seeking his first full term. A lottery will be held Friday morning at 10 at City Hall to determine ballot positions.
