Carmi – Police in Carmi are asking those in Carmi and in towns around White County to be vigilant as counterfeit $20 bills are circulating through the area. Officers have been notified on two separate occasions and believe the bills to be circulating through businesses and banks in the area. Authorities say to check the bills closely and if you own a business, use a counterfeit detecting pen. If you believe you have any of the counterfeit bills you are asked to contact the Carmi Police Department at 382-4633.
