Metropolis – A Metropolis man is behind bars in connection to a theft in Massac Co. According to a release from the Massac Co. Sheriff’s Office, officers were called on Sunday night to a home on the 600 block of May Avenue after it was reported that someone was on the property and that items had gone missing. Deputies arrived and arrested 33-year-old Cody Atkinson and placed him in custody. A search of his home found several items missing from the May Avenue property. Atkinson faces theft charges of over $500.
