Cairo – A pedestrian struck crossing the street in Cairo earlier this month has passed away. According to a release from the Illinois State Police, the man has died from his injuries after being hit by a car on the evening of February 3rd. The release states that the 53-year-old man was crossing the street in the middle of the block at the intersection of 28th Street and Sycamore Street when he was hit by a vehicle being driven by a Royalton woman. No charges have been filed against the driver.
