Gallatin Co. – An Eldorado man is recovering after a two-vehicle accident involving a deer in Gallatin County. According to a release from the Illinois State Police, the accident happened at just before 6:30 Friday evening on Route 141 a quarter-mile east of Awalt Ln. when 55-year-old Phillip Drone swerved to avoid a deer in the road and hit another vehicle head-on. The driver of the second vehicle was uninjured. Drone was taken via helicopter to a regional hospital.
