Alexander Co. – Two are dead and others injured after a two-vehicle accident on Illinois Route 3 near Thebes yesterday. According to a release from the Illinois State Police the accident happened at around 9:05am when an SUV and pickup truck collided head on. The release states that there were five total occupants involved in the crash. Route 3 was shut down for about 5 hours for cleanup. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
