Carbondale – The Carbondale Police Department will be on-site at the Carbondale Middle School today after a potential threat of violence was investigated by the school. According to an email sent out by Carbondale Middle School Principal Carmen Williams-Bonds, the school and the CPD have made an investigation into threats voiced by a student that stated that there would be a violent attack at the school today. A welfare check was made with police visiting the student’s home and after the investigation the conclusion was made that the threat was not credible. Still, Carbondale Police will maintain a large presence at the school today to ensure the safety of students and faculty. Principal Williams-Bonds stated in her email that any parents with questions or concerns could reach out to her either by phone at 457-2174, or via email at cwilliams-bonds@ces95.org.
