Harrisburg – A Harrisburg man is facing gun charges after Harrisburg Police responded to the 400 block of West Church Street for a report of a man armed with a firearm around 8:20 Thursday morning. According to Harrisburg Police, officers arrived and spoke with the victim who alleged that a man had come to his home and pointed a firearm at him, threatening to shoot him. Officers located the suspect, 21-year-old Zachery Thaxton of Harrisburg, at 500 W. Church St. Officers recovered a loaded handgun. Thaxton was arrested for possession of a weapon by a felon, aggravated assault with a firearm, and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. Thaxton is being held at the Saline County Detention Center on $1,000 bond. The Saline County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the investigation.
