Alexander Co. – An investigation is underway after a body was pulled from the Ohio River in Alexander County yesterday afternoon. According to a release from the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, the body was found by a barge worker in the river at Cairo. The identity of the deceased is unknown at this time. It is unclear how long the body had been in the water. An autopsy has been scheduled. If anyone has any information they are asked to contact the Alexander Co. Sheriff’s Office at 734-2141.
