Carbondale – The Saluki Express is discussing upcoming changes that will see the bus service become both safer and more punctual. Starting this summer, the buses will come to a complete stop at each designated stop rather than just making a soft stop if no rider is waiting. Tena Bennett, Director of the Student Center said that the move is being made for safety reasons. “It will lessen the occurrences of people chasing a bus because they were not at the stop and a bus rolled by.” she says. The change will also close a few current stops that are located close together to increase the punctuality of the routes.
