Murphysboro – Jarell Pullen of Carbondale faces possible life in prison after being found guilty in the 2017 murder of Javon Trott after a somewhat tumultuous trial. According to a release from the Jackson Co. State’s Attorney’s Office, Pullen was found guilty on two-counts of first degree murder and four counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm following a bench-trial that Pullen had requested after stating that he didn’t trust the court. The charges stem from an incident in which Pullen shot and killed Trott because of a relationship that both men allegedly had with a minor female. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
