Carbondale – The Carbondale Police Department is investigating a couple of shootings that may or may not be related. According to a release from the Carbondale Police Department, officers learned of the first shooting when they were called to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale at around 6:10 Monday evening after receiving a report of a victim suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The victim stated that the incident happened on the 400 block of East Chestnut Street and described the suspect a black male standing around 6’2″ or 6’3″ wearing dark clothing. Then at around 8:15 Monday night another victim was dropped off at the hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound stemming from an event on the 400 block of East Ashley St, adjacent to East Chestnut. The victim could not describe a suspect in this shooting. Although there is no information connecting the incidents at this time, there is also not information available to rule out the possibility that they are connected either.
