Marion City Council Selects New Chief of Police

Marion – The City of Marion has a new police chief following a unanimous vote by the city council last night. Marion native David Fitts will take over the position left vacant by the retirement of Dawn Tondini. Fitts is a 30-year law enforcement veteran with time on the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department as well as the Illinois State Police. Fitts also served in the US Army. He will officially take the position on Monday.
