Carmi Man Facing Charges After Fleeing Courthouse and Leading Police on Foot Chase

White Co. – A Carmi man is facing new charges after he fled from the White County Courthouse in Carmi when he was approached by a court security officers about his active White County warrant. Carmi Police say officers later found the suspect, 24-year-old Jacob A. Holland at Sycamore and 2nd Street. Holland fled on foot with officers pursuing. He continued fleeing and was eventually tazed and apprehended on 5th Street in front of 5th Street Market. Holland was taken to the White County Jail. Police say as a result Holland was charged with the felony warrant as well as resisting/obstructing a peace officer and aggravated battery. His bond was set at $25,000.
