Cairo – The village of Cairo is closing all levee roads as well as the approaches to the levee roads to all traffic outside of authorized personnel. The announcement was made via Facebook by the Cairo Fire Department yesterday and will take affect this morning. The ban includes personal vehicles but also recreational vehicles like atv’s and utv’s as well as farm equipment. The release states that the move is a precautionary measure being made to prevent unnecessary vibrations and weight on the levee system while the water levels remain dangerous.
