Franklin Co. – The identity of a man whose remains were found on the property of a Franklin Co. Coal Mine last August has been released. Franklin Co. Coroner Marty Leffler says that the man is 47-year-old Charles E. Hall of Marion. He was last known to be alive on June 1st of last year. Skeletal remains were found by a hunter last August on the Old Ben #9 Coal Mine property east of West Frankfort. Leffler says extensive examinations were needed to identify the body, adding that it took several months to obtain pieces of information needed to make a positive identification. The investigation into Hall’s death is ongoing and is being treated as suspicious in nature as Hall was never reported missing. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Franklin Co. Sheriff’s Office.
