Ina – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that the body found last week near oil pumps south of Ina has been identified as a 27-year-old male tourist from the Republic of Lithuania. Benas Bacanskas was reportedly passing through the area while traveling from Nashville, Tennessee to Chicago. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office cannot release a formal cause of death until final laboratory and autopsy reports are made available but will provide an update as soon as the formal cause of death is released. The investigation is ongoing but at this time no foul play is suspected.
