Jackson Co. – A Chester woman was killed and two others were injured in a single ATV accident in Jackson County Saturday night. According to a preliminary investigation report from the Jackson County Sheriff’s office, the accident happened around 9:45 on Swan Pond Road, near Neuhaus Lane, in rural Jacob. A side-by-side utility vehicle was going north on Swan Pond Road, negotiating a curve in the roadway near Neuhaus Lane, when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned. All of the occupants were unrestrained and were ejected in the crash. The driver, 25-year-old Megan Marcinkowska of Chester, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger, 26-year-old Olivia Edwards of Columbia, was flown from the scene to a St. Louis area hospital with life threatening injuries. Another passenger, 24-year-old Dylan Wesbecher of Evansville, received minor injuries. The sheriff’s office continues to investigate the crash.
